There had been a mistake. Someone left our client’s business and their access to systems had not been revoked.

Their incumbent software had a portal option which enabled transmission of selected information.This transmission was undoubtedly secure and so was better than sending it on open email, but this would not be of great value to their clients. It was not an attractive option from their perspective
It would have been of no value in supporting the investigation of this incident.
They realised that using email was also not attractive where their client needed to manage the information being received (the firm had suffered the consequences of the ‘client black hole’ that is email).
